Can you repair a crack in a glass pane?

The simple answer is NO!

Glass in a residential or commercial window frame can’t be repaired like a chip in a car windscreen.

Once the glass has cracked the integrity of the glass is gone and must be replaced with a new glass pane.

Windows typically have float glass, whereas a car windscreen has laminated safety glass, to protect passengers from elements on the road.

Glaziers work with 4 different types of glass:

FLOAT

LAMINATE

TOUGHENED

HEAT STRENGTH
